Lots of Snow in Sun Valley!

We are officially beginning to get lots of snow here in Sun Valley. The beautiful contrast between the white, white snow, the green spruce trees and the blue, blue sky make this the most beautiful place I've ever lived.

Bootleg video of Clive III first day skiing

Clive was all smiles today after getting through his first day skiing.

As many of you know Clive works for the Sun Valley Company as a restaurant worker on top of Bald Mountain in Ketchum.  Skiing free is an awesome benefit to working for Sun Valley and he is even able to get his family and friends in at 50% off.  This video captured a run taken late in the day and shows that Clive has done a nice job mastering some basic skills on his first day skiing.  Nice job Hopie!

While Tyler (the extreme organist) was in town he grabbed some sheet music and asked Jess if she wanted to play a piece with him. She agreed and the video above is Jessica and Tyler playing for the first time together.

Perfection arrives in Hailey

Over the Christmas break we had some dear friends visit us. They are: Susan Ballou and her son Tyler Ballou. Now, these aren't dear friends just because Susan got me an authentic 1921 Parker Duofold fountain pen (which operates magnificently) for my birthday. No, not at all!! Susan is a dear friend because I have known her since I was 14 or so and she got me a 1921 Parker Duofold fountain pen! Susan and I went to the same high school back in the day at South Fremont High School (not the reform school like many thought) located in scenic and famous Saint Anthony Idaho.

Susan is a cool person with a big brain. She graduated 2nd in her HS class and has degrees from BYU (Journalism) and ISU (Modeling - just kidding - Teaching/something close to that) and a Masters from BYU-I... I think. She's the star teacher at her middle school and presumed the best teacher in not only the state of Oregon but the entire west coast.

Tyler is a prodigy/superstar on the organ. He has played everywhere and can do anything if it has keys and pipes. Tomorrow's blog will feature a video of Tyler playing the organ at our ward building here in Hailey. We'll also throw in a video of Tyler and Jessica playing a piano duet.
